Taking the Test
The test isn’t hard, but it is tricky. There are three rules to remember when answer questions:
1. Never raise a problem higher, always solve at your level.
2. If you have the option to gather more information, do it!
3. Never fire or replace a team member. Instead get them additional training or mentorship.
An example of a tricky Question:
1. You are a Project Manager for a technically difficult project dispersed across three locations. You have a new team member that is currently underperforming. Due to unforeseen conditions, your project is fiscally constrained as well. Using the Agile method, how should you handle this situation?
a. Terminate the team member
b. Speak with the Program manager about replacing the team member
c. Ask more senior team members to mentor the new team member to bring him up to speed
d. Look for cost effective Agile Project Management training to help develop the team member
Both C and D are right, but C is more right in this case. Everything highlighted in green is useless information. The portion highlighted in yellow is key to this answer. If you were to remove this statement, D would be the correct answer.
